This program is designed to strengthen your application for the match while refreshing your medical knowledge and providing valuable hands-on experience in clinical education. 

Our Clinical Simulation Program is dedicated to educating and mentoring future leaders in medical simulation. We foster an environment that is both challenging and supportive, equipping fellows with expertise in educational, administrative, and research elements of simulation. As a participant, you will gain the necessary knowledge to conduct simulation-based education in a clinical setting.

Program Details 

  • Start Date: May 2026- August 2026(with an option to continue into 2027) 

  • Location: Antigua (residency required during the program) 

  • Benefits: Stipend, per diem, housing, flights, and medical insurance provided. 

Fellowship Responsibilities 

As a Clinical Simulation Fellow, your training and responsibilities will include: 
Developing and delivering course content using evidence-based teaching techniques. 
Participating in AHA life support courses and clinical simulation activities. 
Engaging in research projects with the goal of presentation or publication. 
Mentoring students in academics, career guidance, and clinical remediation. 
Collaborating with AUA faculty for interdisciplinary simulation development. 
Contributing to curriculum design, administrative tasks, and faculty meetings.  

Research data analysis 

Additional duties may be assigned based on program needs, including EMT class instruction and standardized patient training. 

 

Achievements Upon Completion 

  • 1 Semester: Certificate of Participation 

  • 2 Semesters: Certificate of Completion 

  • Eligibility to pursue a Master’s in Health Professions Education upon completion of required coursework and a successful research presentation/publication. 

Eligibility Requirements 

MD or equivalent degree. 
Passed Step 1 and Step 2 CK (or equivalent exams). 
Strong English communication skills (spoken, written, and presentation). 
Willingness to reside in Antigua during the program. 
Commitment to AUAs mission and a passion for education.
