The position is responsible for binding coverage up to approved limits, producing quotations, managing claims and receivables, handling customer service matters, and participating in the promotion of Beacon’s services.
KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide timely quotations for all classes of business in keeping with The Beacon’s guidelines and approved Limits of Authority.
Bind Coverage for quotations provided and accept New Business for all classes of insurance in keeping with The Beacon’s guidelines and approved Limits of Authority.
Provide immediate Proof of Cover as may be required.
To provide timely sign off on all Policy and other Documents as required.
Consistently identify new opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling the company’s products across Direct Team.
To assist in the formulation, development and implementation of special projects.
To assist Supervisor and Senior Management with effectively growing Beacon’s book of business.
Develop Business through improvement of relationships with customers.
To maintain Beacon’s book of business under your purview by ensuring policies are renewed through continuous communication with the customers.
To assist in preparation of monthly reports on business written and overall performance of the book of business under your purview.
Handle queries that arise from customers concerning their accounts.
Receive Claim Documentation, date stamp them, scan and e-mail to P&C Claims Technical Support Team.
Print Letters for disbursement where necessary and arrange for same to be mailed.
Disburse printed cheques to Customers and place the signed cheque stub in the physical claim file.
Processing of receipts and deposits in accordance with cash collection procedures.
Preparation of Payment vouchers, cheques and disbursements of cheques – Operational Expenses.
Filing of all finance related documents – receipts, deposit slips and vouchers.
Process online transactions via internet to have payments processed by head office.
Preparation of Night Deposit.
Disbursement and reconciliation of Petty Cash.
Comply with all HSSE policies, procedures, and safe-work practices.
Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and incidents promptly.
Participate in required HSSE training and drills.
KEY TECHNICAL COMPENTENCIES:
Knowledge and understanding of the core principles of insurance and how this is applied on a day-to-day basis.
Knowledge and understanding of the range of insurance products and services available in the market and how that knowledge can be used to meet client needs.
Knowledge of the underwriting process.
Knowledge of how claims should be handled and managed.
Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements and how to meet these on a day-to-day basis.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) CXC/GCE/CAPE subjects including Mathematics and English, Grades I and II
Minimum of three (3) years insurance related experience
Certifications in Cert CII, AINS or BDI will be an asset.
