The Clerical Assistant provides operational support within the insurance function, ensuring the accurate processing of policy documentation, client communication, and record management.

The Clerical Assistant provides operational support within the insurance function, ensuring the accurate processing of policy documentation, client communication, and record management. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Employment Type: Permanent
Location: San Fernando
Operation hours: 8am-4pm
Salary range: $4,500 - $5,000
Benefit: Health Insurance

Responsibilities

Administrative & Data Entry

  • Perform accurate data entry using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant systems
  • Prepare and issue insurance renewal notices
  • Generate confirmations to insurers and clients
  • Draft routine correspondence and documentation

Client & Insurer Communication

  • Communicate with clients and insurers via telephone, email, and written correspondence
  • Assist with obtaining, reviewing, and processing insurance documentation and contracts
  • Maintain professional and courteous communication at all times

Office Support

  • Manage filing systems (physical and electronic)
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail
  • Greet clients and visitors in a professional manner
  • Answer and direct telephone calls efficiently

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) CXC O’ Level subjects, including Mathematics and English (Grades 1–3 preferred)
  • Minimum of three (3) CAPE / A’ Level subjects
  • At least three (3) years’ relevant work experience in an administrative or clerical role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer literacy
