Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Claims Management – IL Claims team in the capacity of:
Claims Adjudication Officer
Administer promptly, efficiently and with empathy, all aspects of the claims portfolio, death and living benefits.
Provide accurate information to the Company’s clients with professionalism and courtesy.
Location: Kingston
As a Claims Adjudication Officer, you will:
- Conduct client interviews.
- Establish proper documentation and advise clients of the documents required for the processing of death claims and living benefits.
- Create new claim files on receipt of acceptable evidence of claims.
- Update the system reflecting the appropriate termination status.
- Check all documents for completeness and authenticity.
- Collate files above approval limits for submission to Assistant Manager.
- Follow up outstanding claims.
- Investigate inquiries and respond to the respective clients.
- Input data to generate cheques for claim proceeds and establish proper discharge.
- Prepare the monthly report for submission to the Assistant Manager - Claims Unit. Include the details of living and death claims processed and settled and other pertinent activities.
- Advise and offer guidance to beneficiaries of orphan policies, to reinvest part proceeds in the Company’s investment portfolio.
- Perform any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Nursing or a related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Minimum three (3) years’ working experience within the Insurance industry.
- Life Office Management Association’s (LOMA) designation, Parts 1 & 2, would be an asset.
- Sound knowledge of all products offered by the Company.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Excellent attitude to client service and teamwork.
- Sound knowledge of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet packages, and the CAPSIL system.
