Chief Product Officer-Mortgage

The Chief Product Officer - Mortgage will lead the key pillars of the JN Bank’s (The Bank) mortgage business. In this role, you will own and define the vision, strategy, and product roadmap for the Bank’s mortgage solutions, ensuring alignment with company objectives and our mission to help members achieve financial independence. You will develop innovative, scalable, and high-impact mortgage solutions that simplify home financing and refinancing for our members. As a strategic thought leader, you will collaborate across the organization—partnering with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Credit Risk, Compliance and Executive Leadership—to drive business growth, achieve the profit projections, create bundles with other JN Bank products, optimize the customer experience, and expand JN Bank’s position in the mortgage industry. The Chief Product Officer - Mortgage is also responsible for managing and prioritizing the development of mortgage products and features, ensuring they align with customer needs and business goals, acting as a representative for the customers, communicating their needs to the IT development team and ensuring the product meets those requirements. This role also involves defining the product roadmap, managing the product backlog, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on the product vision. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you will bridge the technical and business worlds, shaping the future of mortgage at JN Bank. You'll inspire with your vision and roadmap, set ambitious goals, and be accountable for delivering results.

The responsibilities

o Own and define the mortgage product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap, aligning with JN Bank broader financial services ecosystem.

o Responsible for aligning the revenue performance of the product to support the JN Bank’s annual budget and profit projections.

o Responsible for product end-to-end ownership ensuring the products are delivered on time and within budget, meeting quality standards and      regulatory requirements.

o Develop and execute high-impact mortgage initiatives, optimizing loan origination, underwriting, and servicing experiences.

o Partner with capital markets and risk teams to influence pricing strategies, secondary loan sales, and underwriting policies.

o Leverage data and analytics to drive continuous improvements in conversion rates, time-to-close, and operational efficiency.

o Responsible for requirement gathering by collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.

o Quality Assurance (QA): Work closely with the IT and Experience QA team to ensure the product meets quality standards and fulfills member requirements.

o Collaborate with the Marketing, and data science teams to build scalable, intuitive, and automated mortgage experiences.

o Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitor products in the Mortgage space, to use these insights to refine product strategy.

o Influence executive leadership by presenting business cases, customer insights, and data-driven recommendations.

o Drive cross-functional execution by aligning marketing, operations, legal, compliance, and other key stakeholders on priorities.

o Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, bringing clarity to ambiguous situations in a fast-paced, agile environment

o Act as a subject matter expert for the Mortgage industry, providing guidance and insights to the team.

o Monitor the performance of the product and suggest improvements or adaptations based on data analysis.

Skills & Experience

o Experience defining and launching complex financial products, preferably in mortgages, or lending with the ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate new ideas.

o Experience in product management, including defining product vision, roadmap, and backlog.

o Basic understanding of mortgage products and technologies, such as loan origination systems and online sales and pipeline platforms including Salesforce.

o Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders with a strong ability to influence cross-functional teams.

o Customer centric with the ability to understand customer needs and translate them into product requirements and a passion for helping people achieve their financial goals.

o Ability to identify and solve problems, analyze data, and make informed decisions.

o Data-driven decision-making expertise, with the ability to define and measure key performance indicators.

o Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver products on time.

Qualifications and Experience

o MBA degree in Business Administration, Management Studies, Marketing or related discipline

o 7+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of leading impactful, diverse product initiatives

o Working knowledge and understanding of mortgage origination, underwriting, servicing, and capital markets dynamics

o Ability to work with executive stakeholders to align priorities, secure resources, and drive execution

o Experience working with Salesforce CRM, contact center platforms, and loan operating systems
