This role is based in Providenciales, Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands and is offered as a three (3) year renewable contract.
JOB SUMMARY
In this role, you will lead a complex transformation project within the TCIFSC. You will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, spearheading strategic initiatives that drive innovation, efficiency, and growth within the TCIFSC. The Chief Operating Officer will lead the transformation journey, ensuring alignment between creative ambition, business strategy, and technological advancements in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Managing Director and Board of Commissioners. This position serves as a strategic business partner reporting to the Managing Director and will be instrumental in reshaping our processes, capabilities, and culture to drive long-term growth and successful value-creating initiatives. In this role, you will ensure the organisation's operational processes adhere to industry regulations while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
REPORTING AND ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Managing Director and indirectly to the Board of Commissioners. Supervision within the Commission is provided to the directors and advisors roles.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute the organisation's strategic plan.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive transformation strategy that aligns with our vision, mission, and growth objectives.
- Drive data-driven decision-making, implementing analytics and insights to measure and optimise performance and operational innovations that improve service delivery.
- Partner with other executives to develop talent and build organisational capability to support transformation efforts and ensure alignment between operations and other business functions.
- Build cross-functional collaboration between regulatory and operational business teams to drive the seamless execution of transformation initiatives.
Transformational Management
- Drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements, automation, and new working methods.
- Asses the availability and readiness of resources within the Commission by identifying gaps and implementing measures to close those gaps.
- Work with executive leadership, and other key stakeholders to communicate strategic initiatives and transformation initiatives.
- Support digital transformation efforts, integrating cutting-edge technology to enhance creative production, workflow management, and client engagement.
- Lead and direct the design and execution of a holistic people transformation roadmap. This includes rethinking the Commission’s HR operating model, and aligning people strategy with the Commission’s future growth priorities and ensuring that employees are supported throughout the transformation journey.
- Provide progress reports and updates to the MD and Board of Commissioners.
Change Management
- Champion a culture of change and innovation throughout the organisation.
- Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Provide guidance and support to departments and teams undergoing transformation.
Team Leadership & Culture Building
- Lead and manage teams, providing mentorship and development opportunities.
- Drive a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Promote a future-ready culture by redefining leadership development, performance architecture, and employee engagement strategies. Lead change management and communication efforts to drive implementation.
- Lead change management initiatives related to operational processes and systems. Monitor and measure the results and effectiveness of the change and communications activities and adjust the methodology as required.
- Facilitate communication between operations and other business functions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- A graduate degree in a relevant discipline is an asset.
- Industry-specific regulatory certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role driving transformation within the financial services industry.
- Demonstrated cross-functional teams and fostered collaboration in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Expertise in developing and implementing operational strategy change management and digital transformation.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage strategic decision-making.
- Experience in risk management and mitigation.
- Track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Track record of successfully implementing process improvements, automation, and digital tools to enhance efficiency.
