VACANCY
Applications are invited for suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA).
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
The incumbent will be responsible for the administration, direction and control of the operations of the North-Central Regional Health Authority.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development in order to meet agreed organisational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales in the core functional departments.
- Provide direction for disaster preparedness and emergency services.
- Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development.
- Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements.
- Manage and control departmental expenditure within approved budgets.
- Provide leadership and guidance in operational programme planning and implementation, budgetary, utilisation and impact analysis and productivity reporting.
- Ensure that accreditation standards are maintained in all functional areas.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary operational development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, manager and staff within the organisation.
- Assess and determine staffing needs and assist in policy formulation in the area of manpower planning and development.
- Monitor and ensure the observance of standards, policies and procedure that have been laid down with respect to recruitment, training, discipline and conditions of service of all categories of staff.
- Ensure that all activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
- Establish partnerships with public organisations and private enterprises.
- Perform any other related duties as directed by the organisational relationship.
Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- Postgraduate Degree in one (1) of the following disciplines or related disciplines
- Business Administration
- Hospital Administration
- Minimum of ten (10) years of post-qualification experience in a related job function; five (5) of which at the middle or senior management level.
- Experience in a healthcare or related environment will be an asset.
* Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed program is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago.
