Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Salary range: $20,000.00 to $25,000.00 


Position Summary

A rapidly expanding holding company based in Trinidad and Tobago, is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO). This critical executive role will be responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency and strategic integration of our diverse portfolio of subsidiaries. The COO will report directly to the Chairman and will be instrumental in driving growth, optimizing performance, and ensuring seamless collaboration across all divisions.

My client is seeking to recruit a leader with a proven track record in managing multiple, distinct business segments, with specific strengths in manufacturing, logistics/supply chain, retail, and hospitality/food and beverage. 

 

Core Responsibilities & Scope

1. Group-Wide Strategic Oversight & Integration

  • Operational Excellence: Standardize and optimize core operating procedures across all the company’s subsidiaries to maximize efficiency, profitability, and scalability.
  • Performance Management: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics for each company, reporting consolidated performance to the Chairman.
  • Inter-Company Synergy: Identify and execute opportunities for synergy and shared services among the different subsidiaries, particularly between the divisions of logistic, retail and hospitality.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement operational risk mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity across all entities.

2. Subsidiary Leadership & Operational Management

The COO will provide direct operational guidance to the General Managers of the following diverse portfolio companies:

 3. Marketing & Growth Initiatives

  • Coordinated Marketing Strategy: Work directly with the General Managers and the in-house Marketing Department to develop, implement, and measure comprehensive, data-driven marketing plans for each company, ensuring alignment with group strategy.
  • New Venture Execution: Lead the operational launch and scaling of all new projects

 

  • Candidate Profile & Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive executive experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (VP of Operations, COO, or equivalent) within a holding company or multi-industry organization.
  • Demonstrated success in managing diverse business segments, ideally including manufacturing, logistics, retail, and hospitality.
  • Proven ability to lead M&A integration projects
  • Exceptional financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management across multiple entities.
