Objective
To support the Executive Director and work as a key member of the organization's leadership team. The Chief Operating Officer (COO), Corporate Services will oversee the design, enhancement, implementation, reporting, and oversight of the NIBTT's, financial and accounting, human resources, legal services and technology functions. The COO - Corporate Services will also be responsible for building, implementing, and overseeing all of the Board's facilities, services and security processes, workflows, and procedures. The COO will play a critical role in helping to shape and guide the future growth and development of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic management and technical leadership of major operations including Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology and Legal Services.
- Develop and lead a full performing operations support team(s) with the required skills and competencies and experience required to function efficiently and effectively while meeting established deliverables.
- Provide comptrollership functions in order to ensure that finances are managed according to legislation, policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles
- Drive evolution and adoption of modern automated management and reporting solutions for heterogeneous environments.
- Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the Executive Director informed of all critical issues.
- Lead in the provision of effective strategic, financial and resource planning and information.
- Provide advice to the Board of Directors, Executive Director, Managers and team members as required.
- Lead in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner.
- Ensure operational integration of all functions under purview.
- Ensure that sound policies, procedures and standards relating to major operations are implemented , monitored and managed.
- Direct Facilities Management and Security operations.
- Manage costs against increased utilization and look for ways to more efficiently deliver services.
- Lead the prioritization and installation efforts of client requests to ensure that customers are receiving solutions in line with expectations.
- Drive and manage change and innovation.
- Serve as chairperson or member of internal Committees and represent the NIBTI at external meetings as directed.
- 16. Provide monthly/quarterly/annual/special reports as requested by the Executive Director.
- Deliver presentations to management and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Represent the NIBTT/Executive Director on internal/external committees, as directed.
- Set performance standards for all staff under your management and evaluate and report to the Executive Director on the performance and operations of the Business Units under your purview.
- Ensure that there is a coordinated and systematic approach to managing Health, Safety and Security risks.
- Share strategic leadership responsibilities with the Executive Director and Management ensuring that the support functions, supports the business at a strategic and operational level
- Perform other related duties as required.
Performance Standards:
- Performance will be measured against:
- Standards set in relation to the NIBTT's Operational Plan, Strategic Objectives and Budget.
- The subsisting Corporate policies and procedures.
- Established professional and ethical standards, industry best practice and statutory requirements.

Qualifications And Experience:
- Post Graduate degree in Management or IT related discipline.
- At least ten ( l 0) years proven experience as a corporate leader overseeing the support business functions of a Financial or Insurance organization.
- Excellent strategic, leadership and communication skills in addition to having sound business financial and legal management acumen.
- Knowledge of social security systems would be an asset.
- Experience and knowledge in integrating and coordinating diverse areas of management
- Experience in leading and driving successful IT change initiatives.
- Proven track record of delivering superior results, leading others to succeed and the ability to influence persons strategically.
Special Skills And Knowledge:
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with Board of Directors, Executive and Senior management. and all other staff.
- High level of Emotional intelligence
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in organizational settings.
- Highly developed leadership, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of the organisation's business environment.
- Ability to lead discussions towards the formulation, articulation and implementation of the organisation's business strategies and plans.
- Knowledge of the NI Act and other relevant statutory legislation
- Ability to work in a technology driven environment
