Chief Investment Officer
The St. Christopher & Nevis Social Security Board invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of Chief Investment Officer.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the prudent management of the Investment Portfolio of the Social Security Board and the provision of information to guide the investment decisions of the Social Security Board.
The position is tenable in the St. Kitts Office.
About Us:
St. Christopher (St. Kitts) and Nevis Social Security Fund is a compulsory insurance fund established by an Act of Parliament in 1977. It began operations on February 1, 1978, taking over from the National Provident Fund, which was basically a retirement savings scheme with limited other benefits.
JOB PURPOSE
The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is responsible for overseeing the organization’s investment strategy, portfolio management, and financial growth initiatives. The CIO will work closely with the executive leadership team to ensure alignment between investment strategies and organizational objectives.
APPLICANTS SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB SKILLS
•A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or other related field.
•Professional finance and accounting designation such as: CFA, CIMA, CPA or FCCA would be an asset.
•At least seven (7) years of relevant experience, including leadership responsibilities.
•Proven track record of managing large investment portfolios.
•Strong leadership, analytical and decision-making skills.
•Proficient in use of financial analytical tools such as Bloomberg.
•Proficient in use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
•Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to complete multiple tasks to deadlines and perform in a fast-paced environment.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•Develop and implement the organization’s investment policies and strategies.
•Manage the investment portfolio, ensuring optimal asset allocation and risk management.
•Develop long-term investment plans aligned with the organization’s financial goals.
•Research and prepare investment proposals and reports to the executive leadership and the Board’s Investment Committee.
•Lead and mentor a team of investment professionals.
•Monitor market trends and economic conditions to adjust strategies accordingly.
•Ensure compliance with regulatory and fiduciary responsibilities and the investment policy.
•Establish and manage risk-adjusted return targets for different asset classes.
•Identify new investment opportunities and trends to optimize portfolio performance.
•Manage relationships with existing external money managers.
•Stay updated on emerging markets, geopolitical risks, and financial regulations.
