Position Summary: The Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) has complete oversight and authority and responsible for all Human Resource functions which include but not limited to the areas of industrial relations performance management, recruitment, training and development, as well as compensation and benefits. The CHRO will also have oversight and authority over all Health and Safety, Facilities and Security at CGA Ltd. The CHRO is also responsible for developing a motivated and flexible team by building working relationships ensuring that health, safety, facilities and security and are adhered to. Manage the team on best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the team. Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide overall leadership, authority and responsibility to the HR, IR, HSE, Facilities and Security departments by overseeing staffing, recruitment, workforce plans, training and development, performance appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximise efficient productivity for the cluster.
- Work as part of the Executive Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements.
- Provides legal advice, clarification and guidance on legal matters
- Reviews and drafts agreements, contracts, leases and other legal documents
- Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission and strategic vision.
- In collaboration with the COO set cluster objectives and departmental KPIs as well as review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
- Develop HR, HSE Facilities and Security plans, policies, procedures and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
- Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each cluster or regarding key IR, HR as well as organizational and management issues.
- Work with the company's executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
- Control budgets for HR, HSE, Facilities and Security departments and monitor expenses within assigned variance.
- Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
- Contribute to a healthy corporate culture that supports growth and equal opportunity.
- Keep abreast of government regulations and public policies and accordingly amending company policies.
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
- Conduct wage reviews.
- Manage employee absenteeism and tardiness rates and develop programme to improve each.
- Liaise with company unions to manage negotiations and employee grievances.
- Handle workplace investigations, disciplinary, and termination procedures.
- Support employee opportunities for professional development and manage succession planning of staff.
- Work with departmental heads to design and implement Job Descriptions.
- Assist with the organization of team-building and staff development activities.
- Develop and implement incentive systems that increase staff morale and productivity.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Conforms to all established departmental & company policies, procedures & objectives, fulfils the requirements of CGA Ltd.’s SQF Program including but not limited to GMPs, PPE, HACCP, food safety & HSE site protocols.
- Monitor the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in Legislation and Company Directives.
- Provide reports on HR, HSE, Facilities or Security incidents or breaches and resolve issues.
