Chief Financial Officer
Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) manages a major fuel-efficient power plant in Trinidad and Tobago. The 720-megawatt (MW) TGU facility is a combined-cycle power plant which is owned by the National Investment Fund Holding Company Limited, the latter is a wholly owned entity of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. The plant is located at the Union Industrial Estate, La Brea and supported by a Corporate Office in Chaguanas.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Position Purpose:
The CFO will support the Finance department to ensure the establishment and maintenance of financial systems which safeguards the integrity of the financial records and protection of the organisation’s assets. The CFO will also directly assist the Chief Operating Officer (COO) on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to Financial, Materials and Logistics, and Information and Communication Technology departmental management to ensure the achievement of established corporate goals and commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and support the organization's fiscal functions and performance.
• Work with the COO on the strategic vision for the Finance, Materials and Logistics and ICT departments.
• Participate in managing and improving business relationships.
• Evaluate and advise on the performance of the Finance, Procurement and ICT programs and strategies also ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements for these areas.
• Develop credibility for all directly reporting departments by providing timely and accurate report in order to assist the COO and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of all direct reporting departments.
• Continual improvement of the financial recording process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department transactions.
• Provide strategic financial input and support for issues affecting the organization.
• Supervise systems for and the provision of timely and accurate financial reports to the COO.
• Develop systems to ensure compliance with the timely and accurate submission of contractually required information and reports to support the COO.
• Support and recommend improvements to the policies and processes around monitoring and assessing risks across the business.
• Represent the company with suppliers and contractors.
• Advise and direct the ICT organization ensuring compliance with departmental targets and goals.
• Provide guidance on financial issues to other Executives and Team Leads across the company.
• Perform other related duties to support the achievement of the company’s goals and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
• An appropriate accounting qualification e.g., CMA, ACCA, or an equivalent university degree in accounting or finance
• A proven track record in financial management, procurement management and ICT administration is also required
• Postgraduate degree in business management and administration or equivalent combination of accreditation and training.
• At least fifteen (15) years’ relevant experience, of which five (5) years are at Senior Management level.
