Chief Accountant

A popular chain of quick service restaurants is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Accountant to join its team. This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of the organization’s operations and overseeing the timely preparation of monthly financial statements. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, effective team leadership, and a keen eye for detail in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes for the restaurant brands

• Prepare monthly financial statements and analytical reports

• Ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial transactions with internal policies and accounting standards

• Supervise and develop the accounts team, providing coaching and conducting performance evaluations

• Oversee the maintenance of accounting systems and recommend improvements

• Support internal and external audit processes

• Analyze expenditures and revenue, monitor budget variances, and provide financial insights

• Travel to restaurant locations as needed to coordinate inventory counts and provide financial support

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• ACCA Level 2 or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or retail environment

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with AccPac is an asset)

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
