Responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing ink formulations and processes to ensure consistent quality, performance, and efficiency in flexographic printing operations.
Ink Formulation & Development
Design and optimize ink formulations tailored for flexographic printing (e.g., water-based, UV-curable, or solvent-based inks).
Evaluate raw materials (resins, pigments, solvents, additives) and manage compatibility.
Conduct lab-scale trials and translate results to manufacturing scale.
Process Optimization & Technical Support
Monitor and fine-tune production processes to enhance ink performance and consistency.
Collaborate with operations to troubleshoot production issues—such as ink consistency, viscosity, drying behavior, or print defects.
Quality Assurance & Testing
Employ tools like spectrophotometers to conduct color matching, colorimetric analysis, viscosity, pH, and rheological testing.
Maintain rigorous record-keeping for formulations, tests, and batch data.
Conduct root-cause analyses for quality deviations and implement corrective actions.
Inventory & Materials Management
Oversee stocks of inks, pigments, resins, and additives.
Forecast material consumption and manage supply chain interactions to ensure formulation materials are in stock.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemical substances.
Maintain a clean, organized ink room, and support sustainability efforts like ink reclaim or recycling.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with production, quality control, maintenance, and R&D teams to align ink performance with operational and product objectives.
Assist in process change implementations and document changes for compliance and traceability.
Documentation & Reporting
Keep ink formulation logs current and accurate.
Prepare technical reports, SOPs, and troubleshooting records.
