The Business and Employment Centre is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for the role of Chauffeur/Messenger. The main objective of this role is to provide transportation services to the Country Representative and to entire office staff.

Job Title: Chauffeur/Messenger

 

Job Responsibilities

Driver Duties:

  • Ensure that the vehicles are clean before transporting staff.
  • Transport staff in accordance with the instructions from authorized official, taking the shortest and safe routes for getting to and from place of visit.
  • Adhere to traffic laws, observing high standards of confidentiality and respect when transporting staff.
  • Complete written record of the journeys made with each official vehicle you drive, updating the vehicle log with all the data required for each trip (call company GPS system and collaborate with green ambassador).
  • Immediately report to the RPA Specialist/RPA Analyst any incidents or accidents related to the official vehicles, followed by an email providing details, pictures/videos of the incident/accident.
  • Prepare in advance and communicate, if necessary, any factor affecting arrival/departure, airports, road conditions that may impact passage (blockages, bad roads, bad weather, etc.), equipment and materials needed for the journey (GPS, satellite phone, first aid kit, etc.).
  • Facilitate the scheduled maintenance of office vehicles as provided by the operating manual for each vehicle.
  • Monitor and make recommendations for preventive maintenance for vehicles; this should be reported to the RPA Specialist and/or RPA Analyst immediately via email.
  • Conduct daily/weekly/monthly checks on vehicle tyres, windshield wipers, battery, fire extinguishers petrol, first-aid kit, etc. as stipulated in the vehicle log, alerting RPA Specialist/RPA Analyst when replacements are required.
  • Maintain legible and updated records and logs, including an account of all car maintenance, gasoline and oil consumption, and repairs.
  • Monitor timing for vehicle insurance for renewal and inform RPAA in a timely manner.

Office Support Duties

  • Provide support to the Admin. team in the purchase of stationery inventory and other office related items.
  • Ensure that printer/copier machines are always stocked with paper and shredder machine empty
  • Perform periodic tests (every two months) of the satellite phones to ensure that they are ready for emergencies.
  • Monitor the availability of the rations for emergency.
  • Assist with the printing, scanning, compiling, and delivery of documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government agencies.
  • Deliver/collect documents according to instructions from the RPA Analyst and other authorized officials.
  • Maintain legible and updated records and logs, including an account of all car maintenance, gasoline and oil consumption, and repairs.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Representative, RPA Specialist and/or RPA Analyst.

 

Period of Performance

  • Provide chauffeur/messenger services Monday – Friday and be on call two (2) weekends per month.

 

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
