Massy Wood is recruiting for a Charge Hand with experience in materials and warehouse operations.

Overview / Responsibilites

The Charge Hand is responsible for setting up and conducting all lifting activities, loading, and off-loading of vehicles and equipment, packing and unpacking of CCU’s, verification of materials in warehouse and forklift operations.  

 

  • Act as a banksman for vehicles entering and leaving the warehouse facility
  • Use and operate the Forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Support loading and off-loading operations of materials from vehicles, manually, with rigging equipment or via forklift.
  • Select rigging equipment and accessories according to approved lift plans.
  • Perform pre use inspection of rigging equipment, accessories and ensure they are certified and fit for purpose.
  • Packing materials in CCU’s safely for transportation offshore.
  • Support in packing materials for storage on pallets and on material racking
  • Assist in stock counts and cycle counts via verifying material quantities
  • Move parts into position, manually or by use of a forklift or Hiab truck
  • Confirm the weights, dimensions, and heights of all loads to be lifted.
  • Assess the lift and the surrounding location and perform hazard identification/JHA’s, lanyard/tag line usage, maneuvers, working space for materials within the warehouse area
  • Work with equipment operators to ensure that loads are secure.
  • Perform Housekeeping activities as required at the Warehouse Facility.
  • Perform all other related job functions as required.

 Qualifications

  • School Leaving Certificate.
  • OPITO Rigger Level I or  Rigging certification from a recognized institution 
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Must possess good verbal and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills, team player.
  • Must possess a driver’s permit. (At least 3 years).
  • Must have a good understanding of warehousing practices eg: (packing, handling, storing etc)
  • Knowledge of materials and their specifications.
  • Certificate of good character (must not be older than 6 months)
  • Preference will be given to nationals of Trinidad and Tobago.
