We are hiring a Certified Mechanic for our client in Trelawny.

CERTIFIED MECHANIC

Job Summary:
The Certified Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the company's fleet, including ATVs, jeeps, buses, utility vehicles, and other mechanical equipment used in daily operations. The mechanic ensures all vehicles and equipment are operating safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical/electrical issues and perform necessary repairs on fleet vehicles and machinery.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance services.
  • Maintain accurate service records and maintenance logs.
  • Ensure all work is done in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts; make requests for replenishment as needed.
  • Assist in developing maintenance schedules and improving fleet reliability.
  • Perform emergency repairs and roadside assistance when required.
  • Communicate with the operations team regarding vehicle readiness and downtime.
  • Adhere to company policies, environmental and safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in automotive or diesel mechanics required.
  • Valid certification from a recognized vocational institution or mechanical body.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a mechanic, preferably with a mixed fleet or tourism-based equipment.
  • Proven knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license (additional licenses such as heavy-duty or motorcycle is a plus).
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment or parts.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily outdoors or in workshop areas.
  • May involve exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and occasional long hours or weekends.
