Cementing Operator II

Performs cementing operations including job preparation, execution, and post-job reporting while ensuring QA/QC compliance. Supports lab testing, bulk blending, and material reconciliation, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.

JOB SUMMARY

The Cementing Operator II works under the supervision of the Cementing Operations Coordinator, in the preparation and execution of cementing jobs including Pre-job and post-job reports, completion of checklists and performing quality assurance and quality control checks for cementing equipment as required. The position is also required to have knowledge and understanding of cementing lab testing practices and bulk blending, they are also required to perform material (cement and cementing chemicals) reconciliation and data upload into database software.

EDUCATION

• Minimum of five (5) CXC O’Level passes (including Math, English and a Science subject) AND at least two (2) A ‘Level passes OR
• A Technical Certificate (MET, EEET, Petroleum Engineer Diploma, etc) OR
• Any other tertiary level Diploma or Certification in a related field of study.

EXPERIENCE

• Three (3) years’ experience as a Cementing Operator I
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Cementing Operations (land/offshore)

Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General:

• Executes cementing-related jobs, in strict adherence to the Cementing Confirmatory Procedure and in coordination with the Cementing Supervisor.
• Handles cementing operations independently while supervising and mentoring others to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
• Conducts Rig-Ups and Rig-Downs in accordance with accepted policy, procedures and practices.
• Performs all related calculations.
• Have full understanding and interpretation of lab test and job designs.
• Demonstrates ability to utilize all applicable software programs.
• Demonstrates proper usage of all related chemicals and inventory materials through effective, efficient safe handling and storage.

Equipment maintenance:

• Troubleshoots and executes repairs on all cementing equipment to address issues promptly and minimize operational downtime.
• Ensures all related tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and in good working order at all times to guarantee reliability and performance, in collaboration with the Maintenance Department.

Other:

• Exhibits knowledge of well performance efficiency databases (e.g. Global Well Service Initiative – GWSI).
• Ensures and maintains proper inventory of material relevant to the specific service’s operations.
• Ensures all Cementing related paperwork be completed and signed off after every job and submitted to Cementing Operations Coordinator.
