Job Description: Category Manager (Duty-Free Retail Company)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Category Manager to join our duty-free retail company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing multiple product categories such as jewelry, sunglasses, watches, confectionery, souvenirs, perfumes and cosmetics, and toys. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for the successful management of these categories, ensuring optimal assortment, effective supplier negotiation, and adherence to global commercial guidelines. 

Responsibilities:

Category Management: Utilize your expertise in managing a diverse range of product categories, including jewelry, sunglasses, watches, confectionery, souvenirs, perfumes and cosmetics, and toys. Develop and execute category strategies to maximize sales and profitability.

Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate with local suppliers to secure favorable commercial terms, ensuring that we meet the commercial terms established by the group. Build strong relationships with suppliers to enhance collaboration and drive mutual growth.

Global Commercial Guidelines: Implement guidelines received from the global commercial department, ensuring alignment with company strategies and objectives. Effectively communicate and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to these guidelines.

Assortment Management: Develop and manage the assortment for assigned categories, taking into consideration market trends, customer preferences, and profitability goals. Continuously monitor and analyze product performance to make data-driven decisions and optimize the assortment.

Reporting: Generate regular reports on category performance, sales analysis, market trends, and other relevant metrics. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive improvements in category performance and overall business results.

Analytical Skills: Utilize your strong analytical skills to analyze market data, consumer behavior, and category trends. Identify opportunities for growth, cost savings, and operational efficiencies within assigned categories.

Master Data Management: Take charge of the master data in order to maintain accurate and updated product information in the system. Ensure that all relevant data, including pricing, promotions, and product attributes, are properly maintained and reflect the current state of the category.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

-Proven experience in managing multiple product categories, including jewelry, sunglasses, watches, confectionery, souvenirs, perfumes and cosmetics, and toys, preferably in a duty-free retail environment.

-Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.

-Familiarity with global commercial guidelines and the ability to implement them effectively.

-Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.

-Proficiency in reporting and data analysis tools.

-Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.

-Excellent communication and presentation skills.

-Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

-Familiarity with master data management principles and systems is a plus.
