Cashier

Aventa Jamaica is seeking a detail-oriented, trustworthy, and customer-focused Cashier to join their Accounts Receivable team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the daily cash management functions of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify cash, cheques, debit/credit card payments, and sales invoices.

  • Process and accurately record non-cash transactions daily.

  • Issue receipts to customers and contractors for all collections.

  • Prepare and reconcile cash, cheque, and card payments to the Daily Cash Report.

  • Prepare bank deposits for pick-up by the security courier company.

  • Apply receipts to customer accounts as guided.

  • Maintain the company’s Petty Cash Float and Receipt Book Log.

  • Maintain filing systems for logs, receipts, and all Accounts Receivable documentation.

  • Assist with stock count activities when required.

  • Support compliance with all company policies, including health, safety, and quality standards.

  • Perform other duties assigned to support the company’s objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five (5) CSEC/GCE O’Level passes, including English Language and Mathematics.

  • CAT certification or currently pursuing ACCA is an asset.

  • 2–3 years’ experience in cashiering, accounts, or a similar role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of general accounting practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work well in a team and meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and public holidays.
