JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Cashier Reports to:

Manager Summary: The Cashier – reports directly to Senior Management.

The ideal candidate will handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently, provide excellent customer service, and support the front-of-house operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and provide a positive dining experience.

• Process customer orders accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.

• Handle cash, credit card, and other payment transactions securely and efficiently.

• Ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the start and end of each shift.

• Answer customer questions about the menu, promotions, or restaurant policies.

• Assist in packing and handing out takeout orders.

• Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and dining area.

• Handle customer complaints or inquiries professionally and escalate issues to the manager when necessary.

• Support the team with additional tasks, such as restocking supplies or assisting servers during busy periods.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail for handling transactions accurately.

• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

• Proficiency in operating POS systems and basic computer skills.

• Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members.

• Ability to handle difficult situations or complaints with professionalism and composure.

• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Cashier Job Description Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• Previous experience as a cashier, preferably in a restaurant or retail setting, is an advantage.

• Familiarity with basic food service or hospitality practices is beneficial.
