Role Description:

Our client is seeking a friendly and reliable Cashier to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling customer transactions, ensuring accurate cash management, and preparing deposits. Additionally, this role involves making authorized payments and delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receives customer orders and prepares bills; accordingly, correctly applies wholesale or retail prices and discounts, if applicable, per established policy and procedure.

• Ensures safe handling of cash:
  • Receives cash and generates receipts
  • Obtains and accounts for daily cash imprest
  • Counts and balances cash daily
  • Prepares daily deposits along with cash summaries
  • Pays cash tickets, bills, etc.
  • Responds to queries from customers and assists as required.

• Prepares and submits data on transactions to the Senior Supervisor, Accounts/ Information Technology Department.

• Assists in other reasonable job-related activities that may arise in periods of non-production.

Qualifications:

• Four (4) CXC subjects or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics PLUS one (1) - two (2) years working experience in a similar capacity.
• Certification in Basic Accounts or Customer Service would be an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical tasks such as lifting and moving items.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
