The Kennel Attendant / Caretaker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for animals, staff, and visitors. This role ensures that all indoor and outdoor areas are properly maintained.

Job Summary: Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of property, gardens, and animal care areas. Duties include, but are not limited to, feeding and caring for animals, cleaning kennels, maintaining outdoor spaces through watering, mowing, pruning, and planting, and ensuring the property remains clean, safe, and well maintained. Assists with basic maintenance and monitors the premises to support a healthy environment for both animals and people.  🌿🐾

Key Responsibilities:

Kennel & Animal Care:

  • Keep indoor and outdoor kennels clean and hygienic at all times.

  • Wash all towels, dog bowls, and other animal-related items regularly.

  • Monitor the fish tank, ensuring water levels are appropriate.

Facility Cleanliness:

  • Ensure the reception area is always clean and welcoming.

  • Maintain cleanliness in examination rooms, surgery rooms, and x-ray rooms; floors must be clean and odor-free.

  • Clean bathroom floors at least twice daily; toilets and basins three times per week.

  • Replenish tissue, hand soap, and hand towels as needed.

Gardening & Grounds Maintenance:

  • Keep the front yard free of garbage.

  • Water plants and trim hedges when necessary.

  • Water indoor and outdoor plants regularly.

Requirements:

  • Must be literate and people-oriented.

  • Must be able to reach work by 7:00 AM daily.

  • Must be available to work on weekends and holidays if needed.

  • Reliable and able to work independently.

  • Physically fit to perform cleaning and gardening tasks.

  • Must be literate and able to follow written and verbal instruction

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in animal care or kennel maintenance is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of basic gardening and plant care.

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
