The Role

 To employ technical skills and knowledge of canine behaviour to train canines from initial selection to advance protection work

What You'll Be Doing

• To assess a canine’s ability to be an effective protection dog
• To tailor the training to the temperament of the dog
• To socialise canines from the puppy stage through to advanced obedience commands
• To mange multiple canines through the training process
• To develop a good working relationship with the canines
• To rehabilitate problem canines
• To be aware of the canines’ health and welfare at all times
• Assist when needed in the instruction of handlers and trainers
• Ability to work within a team and as an individual
• Efficient time keeping and organizational skills
• To perform training and agitation duties at out of town locations as necessary
• To take part in outside Company shows and Demonstrations
• To perform any other duties that may be required

A Little Bit About You

• Active interest in canines
• Knowledge and experience in canine behaviour and handling
• Knowledge of classical protection training techniques
• Team work and adaptability
• Keen observational skills

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

• Secondary Education
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a canine care and handling position
• Experience within a security company would be an advantage
