The Medical Customer Service Representative (CSR) will be the primary contact for patients, healthcare providers and insurance companies at the Arima Private Hospital.

Job Summary: The Medical Customer Service Representative (CSR) will be the primary contact for patients, healthcare providers and insurance companies at the Arima Private Hospital.  The role typically operates within the hospital, managing inquiries related to appointments, billing, insurance, and general patient care.

Reports to:

HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and assist them in filling out the patient information form.
  • Data entry of patient’s information within the Hospital’s Database.
  • Scheduling of patient appointments.
  • Order, collect, distribute and store supplies.
  • Administrative / clerical support roles including (but limited to) filing, typing, printing, scanning, emailing, data entry and document retrieval.
  • Patient file management pre and post for doctor visits.
  • Answer customer phone calls and provide them with the information that they requested.
  • Provide information to patients on service procedure prices, discounts, promotions and advertisements.
  • Explain insurance coverage plans to patients.
  • Process cash, credit card, cheque and insurance transactions for medical services rendered.
  • Conduct patient follow up calls after doctor consultations.
  • Maintain confidentiality with company and patient records.
  • Resolve customer complaints swiftly and amicably, directing technical inquiries or complaints to the appropriate medical staff.
  • Perform end-of-day sales balancing and reconciliation.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of accounting and insurance fundamentals, and procedures.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel Skills.
  • Knowledge of point-of sale systems. 
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

 Minimum Training and Experience:

  • 5 CXC / CSEC passes including English and Mathematics.
  • At least two (2) years experience in a Customer Service role.
  • Experience in a hospital / medical administrative environment will be an asset.
