COST CONTROLLER

Reporting to the general manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures that minimize cost inefficiencies, protect the assets of the company, and ensure maximum profitability for the organisation.

Specific requirements/duties of the position include:

• Monitoring the receiving functions and conducting periodic spot checks.
• Monitoring goods in transit, inventory clearing and price variance accounts
• Periodically checking sales orders to ensure accuracy
• Monitoring and controlling all consumable costs
• Working in conjunction with all department heads to ensure maximum profitability
• Implementing and maintaining proactive solutions and cost-cutting measures
• Assessing all incoming products, resources, and services to ensure the best price
• Auditing invoices, credit memos, and product security to ensure accurate food cost percentages.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of a first degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related discipline or ACCA Level II.
• At least three years’ experience in a similar position
• Experience in the food & Beverage or Hospitality industry is preferred
• Must be able to adapt to change and new situations
• Must be able to work long hours.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• The ability to lead & motivate others
• Knowledge of finance, budgeting, and cost control principles
• The ability to create simple reports
