CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR

CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR 

Reporting to the Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in coordinating construction efforts through in-house and contract labour for new construction and renovation projects. He/she will also be responsible for the safety and quality of work performed within the construction department and renovation projects.

Specific Requirements/Duties of the position include:

• Implementing corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations
• Ensuring all safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied within assigned areas of responsibility
• Overseeing the implementation of work packages
• Overseeing field activities to ensure personnel and nuclear safety
• Determining, reviewing and reporting manpower requirements for filed activities
• Planning, coordinating and recommending the implementation of the construction plans and designs
• Negotiating with contracting companies in order to get sufficient equipment and personnel necessary to complete the construction
• Monitoring the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and procedures

Qualifications and Experience

• Engineering/Construction certification from a recognised technical or vocational institution
• Experience in construction at a senior level
• Experience managing and supervising foremen who manage multiple crews;
• Extensive experience in weekly costing of jobs and managing overall financial success of projects
• Ability to operate standard construction equipment
• Ability to lift and carry items of at least 25 pounds
• Willingness to relocate & travel as needed.
