CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing construction projects in association with the project team and will report directly to the Project Manager. He or she will be accountable for design quality control, time and budget management and will oversee projects through to completion and final handover

 Specific Requirements/Duties of the Position Include:  

• Plan, organize, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to, specifications and budget.
• Developing contingency plans as situations warrant.
• Anticipating potential challenges, analysing, and recommending solutions or corrective actions.
• Monitoring the activities of team members, contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and procedures.
• Keeping abreast of changes in construction practices for safety and sustainability.
• Generating construction schedules, progress and milestones reports.
• Developing and implementing quality control programmes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management
• Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic or City and Guild certificate in building construction
•  Minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction management and significant experience in the construction industry
• Familiar with project management and document management software (such as Procore) and knowledge of all MS Office applications including MS Projects, Excel, etc.
• Certification in construction-related fields is considered an advantage
