To conduct the efficient and effective processing of customer collections activities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. To ensure timely and effective customer calls relating to outstanding payments, reduce incidents of bad and doubtful debt

Key Responsibilties
  • Contact clients with overdue loans through phone calls, SMS, visits, and meetings to secure repayment.

  • Conduct regular field visits to clients, especially in rural and semi-urban areas, to follow up on late payments.

  • Negotiate workable repayment plans with clients in arrears and monitor adherence.

  • Escalate persistent delinquent cases for legal action or repossession, in accordance with company policy.

  • Maintain updated records of repayment schedules, arrears, and client interactions.

  • Monitor loan portfolio performance and provide early warning signals for potential defaults.

  • Submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly collection reports to management.

  • Assist in identifying repeat defaulters and recommend corrective action (e.g., restructuring, blacklisting).

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage timely repayment.

  • Provide financial education to clients on budgeting, loan use, and repayment obligations.

  • Work closely with loan officers to ensure proper client screening and credit risk management.

  • Ensure collections are carried out in compliance with company policies, microfinance regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Handle all client information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Uphold the company’s reputation by balancing firm collections with empathy and respect for clients’ circumstances.
