CAD Technician required

THIS POSITION IS OPEN ONLY TO NATIONALS OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO PRESENTLY LIVING IN TRINIDAD.

Our client in San Juan is seeking to fill the position of a CAD Technician

Salary: $6,000.00

PURPOSE & SCOPE

 This position is responsible for generating, procuring and coordinating all the events associated with the successful completion of jobs to meet and/or exceed the company’s and customer’s needs and expectations through;

• Generating all the relevant technical information required in a timely manner for the successful completion of jobs while maintaining design systems used in the manufacturing processes.

• Procuring all the necessary job specific materials so as to ensure the Just-In-Time delivery of materials to the warehouse at the most economical quantity and price.

2.0          KEY DUTIES

OPERATIONS

2.1          Assist with taking onsite dimensions and relevant information required for projects, assessing site conditions of any potential problems and offering recommended solutions.

2.2          Interpret Architectural drawings, prepare and submit the relevant internal CAD shop drawings specific to the job for the client’s approval, prior to the start of fabrication and installation.

2.3          Prepare all relevant job specific information in a timely manner, such as cutting and packing lists for the fabrication and installation processes to successfully complete the job. 

2.4          Hold coordination meetings with Sales Representatives, Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors as necessary, both on-site and/or off-site, as often as required to offer support and ultimately ensure successful job completion.

2.5          Ensure that products conform to customer’s requirements and meet customer’s needs within specified deadlines and budget.

2.6          Coordinate with the Senior CAD Technician and or Operations Supervisor regarding current and impending projects to effectively schedule the available resources to achieve both the Company’s and customers’ requirements where possible.

2.7         Urgently communicate with the Operations Manager on all hindrances preventing the successful completion of jobs, regarding design, materials procurement, manufacturing and installation problems, suggesting corrective action.

2.8         Assist with ensuring that the Company’s Health and Safety Standards are rigorously followed, that the day-to-day activities of the manufacturing and installation processes are performed safely and to the best practices, conforming to OSHA policies and regulations.

2.9         Acquire a firm knowledge of all the products and services offered by the company.

2.10       Promote company-wide quality improvement efforts.

2.11       Perform any ad hoc duties deemed appropriate by management

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

o    At least five (5) CXC subjects including Mathematics and English.

o    Technical qualifications in Auto CAD and other related fields will be considered an asset.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

o    Minimum of two (2) year’s work related experience.

o    Background in the construction environment will be an asset.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

o    Proficiency in the following software:

•       Microsoft Office Suite

•       Auto CAD Level I

o    Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans

o    Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills o Good working knowledge of construction principles

o  Valid driver’s license

o  Self starter with a strong ability to prioritise with Company’s values.

o Ability to balance multiple priorities efficiently and combine administrative and technical responsibilities that represent opportunities for growth.

o Detail oriented, ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment. o Excellent planning, organisational, analytical and problem solving skills.

o  Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
