Currently seeking a Purchasing Officer/Buyer

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Buyer/Procurement Officer to join our team at our chemical manufacturing facility in Point Lisas. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services essential to plant operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for raw materials, chemicals, equipment, and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure best value for the company.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and production teams to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with finance, engineering, and operations teams to align procurement strategies with business goals.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in the chemical, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is an asset.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of international sourcing and import/export regulations is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
