About The Role     

We are looking for a Retail Buyer to join our Buying team. In this role, you will contribute to selecting the right products, managing inventory levels, and working closely with vendors to ensure our customers always find great products at the right time and price.

Essential Functions

  1. Manage inventory selection and product lifecycle for assigned categories or sub-categories under the direction of the Head of Buying and Creative Director.
  2. Implement assortment plans to ensure the right mix of products, pricing, and stock levels are available to support sales and inventory targets.
  3. Develop sales forecasts and manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets for assigned categories.
  4. Place and track purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products.
  5. Maintain optimal stock levels by monitoring inventory performance and managing replenishment cycles.
  6. Manage ordering schedules, vendor timelines, and sourcing processes to ensure items are available when needed.
  7. Monitor category performance and adjust stock levels, pricing, or promotions based on sales trends and customer demand.
  8. Identify inventory for markdown, promotion, or discontinuation to support category sales and margin targets.
  9. Negotiate pricing, costs, and trading terms with suppliers and maintain effective vendor relationships.
  10. Identify and evaluate vendors through market research, industry networks, and trade shows.
  11. Partner with Marketing, Visual Merchandising and retail teams to support promotional activity and product presentation.
  12. Maintain accurate product information across internal systems and digital platforms, including pricing, images, descriptions, and product listings.
  13. Conduct category, vendor, and competitor performance reviews to identify trends and opportunities within the market.
  14. Provide product knowledge to Sales teams and support cross-functional collaboration to drive category performance.
  15. Perform additional duties that may reasonably be assigned within the scope of the role.

Requirements        

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Retail Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in retail buying, merchandising, inventory planning, category management, or a similar retail role.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to analyse sales performance, margins, and inventory data.
  • Understanding of retail buying processes including forecasting, stock management, pricing, and promotional planning.
  • Ability to interpret sales and performance reports to support buying decisions.
  • Experience working with suppliers and supporting negotiations on pricing and trading terms.
  • Strong communication and organizational, skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
