A dynamic organization in the General Insurance industry is seeking to fill the position of Business Development Specialist The incumbent is tasked with assisting in identifying, creating and implementing new channels, products, opportunities and initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development process for assigned new products which include conducting market research.
- Assist the Sales & Business Development Manager in the development of new products.
- Lead the execution and implementation of assigned initiatives.
- Assist the Sales & Business Development Manager in the execution and implementation of initiatives.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with other subsidiaries of Sagicor Group Jamaica (SGJ) and other partners such as car dealerships to foster sales performance.
- Liaise with managers and team leaders throughout the organization.
- Monitor the performance of and prepare progress reports of initiatives undertaken with subsidiaries and other external partners.
- Close business deals to secure new revenue streams.
- Attend promotional and sponsored events to foster sales performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management studies, finance or economics
- Professional qualifications such as ACII, CPCU or CIP are a distinct advantage
- Five (5) years or more experience in a senior underwriting/broking role or in a business development or project management role within a general insurer or broker
- Possesses a reliable motor vehicle.
REQUIRED KEY COMPETENCIES
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Strong understanding of business and financial concepts
- Adept at using Microsoft Office applications
- Able to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
- Solutions and goal oriented
