The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing new business opportunities within the Guyana market.

Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing new business opportunities within the Guyana market. The role supports senior country leadership by driving strategic growth initiatives, managing client relationships, and participating in commercial activities such as tenders and proposals.
The position also assists in the day‑to‑day management of client interactions, contract execution, and general business oversight. This role serves as a key representative of the organization in the local market and may act as a delegate for senior leadership when required.
This is a full‑time, Guyana‑based role.


Key Duties & Responsibilities
Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality (HSSEQ)

  • Promote and demonstrate strong HSSEQ leadership across all staff, contractors, and client interactions.
  • Ensure business development and client engagement activities comply with the company’s HSSEQ policies and applicable regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement in safety and operational standards.

Business Development & Client Engagement

  • Build and maintain relevant networks and professional relationships within the Guyana market.
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Monitor market trends, economic activity, and the business landscape to inform strategic planning.
  • Ensure the organization is registered on all relevant client and vendor portals.
  • Participate in tenders, RFQs, RFPs, and other commercial submissions.
  • Support the development, tracking, and analysis of business line budgets.
  • Serve as delegate for senior country management when requested.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
  • Degrees in engineering or technical disciplines may be considered when combined with strong business development acumen.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy industry or related sectors, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience in oil and gas, logistics, industrial services, or similar fields is an asset.
