Our client, Rotoplastics Trinidad Limited is seeking to fill the position of Business Development / Export Manager.

JOB SUMMARY

The Business Development / Export Manager will be required to lead and drive the organisation’s business development strategies, enhance its current portfolio, explore new business opportunities and increase revenues. The incumbent will also execute business strategies that are in line with organizational objectives; service existing accounts ensuring quality and consistency of service and/or product delivery and ensure that the Company is projected as the Leader in the Industry and a Good Corporate Citizen.

  

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

MAIN FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and help to identify new product possibilities. Develop and improve product design attain sales.
  • Maintain current client relationship and identify areas for potential clients.
  • Contact potential clients to establish a business relationship and meet with them.
  • Develop new sales areas and improve sales through various methods.
  • Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business.
  • Collaborate business development with export and subsidiary sales and design team to ensure requirements are met, such as sales numbers and profit goals.
  • Train and develop export sales employees to improve sales goals and meet expectations.
  • Have a strong understanding of Company products and services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive.
  • Develop and update a comprehensive business development plan, with targeted goals, objectives, methods, quantifiable outcomes and timelines to achieve organizational sustainability and annual budget goals.
  • Analyse and identify scope for new business analysis and recommend solutions and improvements to current business procedures, systems and policy.
  • Develop program sustainability strategies to ensure financial viability of programs and services.
  • Identify business opportunities.
  • Lead contract negotiations and tenders with potential clients.
  • Research possible new markets, identify competing products and help to introduce products in both new and existing territories.
  • Be aware of competing products knowing competitive demands and ensure our pricing is competitive.
  • Build partnerships and strategic alliances that will extend the organization’s brand locally, regionally and internationally.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the industry, regionally and nationally, to help guide the Group of Companies core mission and strategy.

EXPORT SALES:

  • Manage and lead the export department.
  • Compile and analyse data on marketing trends, competitive products, and pricing.
  • Participate and lead the team in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows.
  • Ensure that the coordination of shipping schedules and delivery of products meet deadlines and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the attainment of export budget.
  • Submit a monthly report detailing sales and prospecting activities such as sales prospects, closed sales and follow-up activities.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Act as a liaison between the subsidiaries and senior management at it relates to sales and new business development. Attend meetings, oversee tenders, and report to management on developments.
  • Assist the Marketing Department with New Product Development (NPD) activities, packaging, labels, etc.
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities. Provide relevant reports and information.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Liaise with the Production and Warehouse Departments to ensure special and/or backlog orders are completed in time to satisfy customer ship dates/requirements.
  • Attend monthly sales and management meetings.
  • Implement all sales and marketing activities in conformity with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that all-necessary documentation being submitted is accurate and done on a timely basis.
  • Ensure that the department and all of its related areas are kept orderly, clean and tidy.
  • Perform other job-related duties as specified by the Directors.

   

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree would be preferred.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in Export Sales at the management level.
