Job Title: Business Development Executive

Reporting to: Regional Business Manager (Caribbean)

Location: Georgetown Guyana office based, BD activities in Suriname are also part of the responsibility when required.

 

About the role:

In the role of Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for helping the organization obtain brand recognition & financial growth, through networking and preparation of tenders. Finding new clients for the business, designing proposals for new products and services and maintaining existing client relationships. 

Support the Business in the marketing and sales function in Guyana. This includes identification of project targets at budget stage, liaison with the relevant Business Unit management, relationship establishment, pre-qualifications, market intelligence, pricing and budgeting knowledge, local network support, overseeing bidding activity, bid submission, pricing and market intelligence feedback and winning and closing of orders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategies, Planning, Marketing and Sales
  • Advertising and Promotion
  • Project Development
  • Oil and Gas and Energy sectors including renewables
  • Responsible for Customer Engagemnent, Prequalification’s, Tendering and Bidding process
  • Engaging with Actavo Caribbean Regional leadership
  • Developing a comprehensive knowledge of the market to formulate marketing and sales policies and objectives for the company
  • Develop contacts and an information service in the contracting field with the objective of expanding the company's operations.

Reports

  • Provide information at the monthly Business Development meetings.
  • Responsible for maintaining business unit probable’s and sales overview
  • Identify CTA’s and ensure approval is received.
  • Receive tender schedule proposals from the proposals division.
  • Obtain customer feedback.
  • Provide and maintain information systems and facilities to ensure up-to-date and reliable information about current and anticipated economic conditions pertinent to the company's operations.
  • Maintain close consultation with the Country Director/Manager in relation to the range and quality of services being marketed by the company and in regard to possible future additions and changes to this range.
  • Maintain close liaison with clients on successful and unsuccessful quotes and report on these.
  • Utilize to the full whatever advertising is allowed by the client on site.
  • Ensure that accurate and up-to-date information is available on the scale of activities and operations of the company's main competitors.
  • Maintain constant attention to policy and customers reactions to the company’s service
  • conditions and evaluate the progress of sales in relation to targets and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain good working relations between the company and its customers.
  • Develop company's sales through:
  • a) Contacts.
  • b) Identification of opportunities through journals etc.
  • Report on all opportunities and the follow-up action taken on these.
  • Assists and advises the Country/Area in the formulation of the company's policy on marketing – sales and in compliance with the IMS.

 

EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A degree in marketing (preferred)
  • Previous Business Development experience in construction & engineering.
  • Relevant experience in a project construction, oil & gas, energy background.
  • 5 years of work experience in the field of business development.
  • Knowledge of international clients.
  • Knowledge of local market.
  • Who’s who internationally and locally.
  • Knowledge of company products and services.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Relationship building skills.
  • Networking.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Selling skills.
  • Communication skills.
