OVERVIEW:
KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named "Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)" operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide office support to its member firm KPMG United States ("the Client").
JOB SUMMARY:
In this role, you will facilitate the business conflict review process by managing and clearing inbound business conflict reviews from global member firms. You will serve as the primary communicator with global member firm Resolvers, US Sentinel Lead Partners, and Global Lead Partners to ensure the timely and accurate processing of business conflict reviews. Utilizing your knowledge of the Firm’s business conflict policies, you will review Sentinel request details, seek necessary clarifications, and ensure compliance with US business conflict protocols. Additionally, you will provide support to the Conflicts Center of Excellence (COE) by allocating inquiries, managing "status checks," reporting updates, and organizing assignments to streamline operations. This role also requires you to identify conflicts in low-risk Sentinel requests by reviewing the engagement details and making an assessment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery
- Facilitate the review and clearance of inbound business conflict reviews from global member firms, ensuring that all requests are processed accurately and efficiently
- Communicate daily with global member firm Resolvers about the status of inbound business conflict review requests and their progression through the clearance process
- Review Sentinel request details including service codes, descriptions, parties, and attributes, and apply relevant business conflict protocols
- Send Business Conflict Review emails and maintain active communication with US Sentinel Lead Partners and Global Lead Partners regarding Business Conflict Reviews
- Explain and communicate the Firm’s business conflict policy to relevant stakeholders as needed
- Follow up proactively with member firm Resolvers and Sentinel Lead Partners when additional information or detail is necessary to clear business conflict requests
- Support the Conflicts COE by allocating Inquiry Xpress (IX) and email inquiries to team members, managing "status check" requests, and addressing fee and date updates in Inquiry Xpress and Sentinel
- Assign Sentinel requests to members of the Conflicts COE by generating and administrating a prioritized list from Sentinel multiple times a day, as needed, to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Update workload tracker to track status of requests, ensure smooth collaboration with other members of COE.
- Review of Sentinel requests with no Other/Adverse Parties to identify potential conflicts
- Proactively manages Sentinel requests to address within timely manner.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent work experience in Independence, legal, client service, or related business experience
- Ability to contribute to projects, processes, or programs under some supervision
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence tools such as Google Gemini and Co-Pilot preferred.
- Solid verbal/written communication, problem-solving, analytical, and independent judgement skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork
- Ability to work independently and work well within a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to adhere to deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- JESS uses a hybrid work model, allowing staff to work from home in Jamaica or in the office. Employees must be in the office at least five days per month, with more days possible if required by business needs
- You are expected to use KPMG-approved Generative AI tools to support your daily work tasks
- Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities
- May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays
