They collaborate with stakeholders, gather and document requirements, conduct data analysis, and provide insights and recommendations to drive business growth and enhance operational efficiency. They play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring successful project outcomes and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

1. Problem and Opportunity Definition:

· Liaise with the process initiator and interview other stakeholders to identify the business problem/ opportunity.

· Incorporate data-driven decision-making by utilizing analytics tools to perform root-cause analysis of identified business problem/opportunity to ensure the right business problem/opportunity is addressed.

· Employ Agile methodologies to iterate quickly and refine problem/opportunity definitions.

· Get consensus (Sign-Off) from stakeholders about the business problem / opportunity and ensure buy in is obtained on the issue that is to be addressed.

· Produce Business Problem / Opportunity Definition Document or Business Case.

2. Requirements Management

· Lead the gathering, analysis, and documentation of business and functional requirements for IT projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

· Incorporate user-centric design principles to ensure requirements meet end-user needs.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and deliverables, and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

· Utilize modern requirements management tools for better traceability and collaboration.

· Implement continuous feedback loops with stakeholders using Agile or DevOps practices.

3. Solution Design and Implementation

· Collaborate with technical teams, including Advanced Analytics, to design IT solutions that meet business requirements and integrates with emerging technologies, e.g. GenAI.

· Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) during solution design.

· Evaluate and recommend possible technology options

· Ensure solutions are aligned with business goals, scalability, and security requirements.

· Ensure solutions and processes comply with the latest cybersecurity standards and practices.

· Develop data change programmes and procedures to ensure a high level of data integrity

4. Stakeholder Engagement

· Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors.

· Facilitate effective communication, real-time collaboration and manage expectations.

· Ensure that business needs are understood and translated into actionable solutions, including identifying and facilitating training programs for the user community.

5. Process Mapping and Improvement

· Analyse and map existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement including employing process automation tools to streamline workflows.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to define optimized future-state processes that leverage IT solutions effectively.

· Continuously monitor and improve processes using real-time analytics.

6. Secondary support and consulting roles:

· Participate in technical design and architecture meetings and discussions, informing the Technical architects or consultants on the functional and business requirements where necessary in the translation of requirements into technical designs.

· Advocate for test automation to increase efficiency in the testing phase.

· Liaise with Test Lead and Test Resources consulting with them on functional specifications in the translation of the specifications into a test plan and test scripts, as applicable.

· Provide guidance and consultancy to Test Team re: Unit Testing

· Utilise test feedback from Test Team to assess errors and issues in terms of specified criteria and classify and rank the errors/issues.

· Liaise with developers to resolve errors/issues in line with predetermined and specified resolution criteria.

· Provide support to the Business on miscellaneous issues within area of expertise.

· Promote a DevOps culture to ensure seamless integration between development and operations.

7. Mentoring and Knowledge Sharing

· Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices to provide cutting-edge consultancy.

· Share expertise and provide guidance to junior business analysts, fostering their professional development.

· Promote knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization by conducting training sessions, workshops, or knowledge transfer sessions.

First Degree in Management, Business,

Computer Science, Information Science,

Information Technology or related field from

a recognized tertiary level educational

institution.

· 5 C.X.C. / CSEC passes including Mathematics

and English Language.

· 2 A’ Level/ CAPE passes.

· Certified Business Analysis Professional

(CBAP)
