Business Analyst

The government of the Cayman Islands has taken a decision to review the management of labour and development of Caymanians in the labour workforce and, as a result, has reorganised the two existing departments; namely the Department of Immigration and National Workforce Development Agency; into a defined organisation; namely Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC).

The Business Analyst will support the Head of Information System Development and Support in the management, collection, and distribution of Labour Market Information.

 

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provide leading support to the operational objectives of the Labour Market, conducting analyses and investigating operational issues through the gathering, evaluating and output of the business processes and requirements.
  • Provide leading support in the construction of workflow charts, design modifications, diagrams for system capabilities and support the controls process by identifying problems and improving on practices and procedures.
  • Promote and execute informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues. 
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; and prepare and publishing progress reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Provide support to validate resource requirements and be able to develop cost estimate models.
  • Assist and collaborate with the team through various supporting activities to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with other colleagues and undertake other adhoc duties as requested.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Research and Statistics, Management or similar field plus 5 - 7 years’ experience in the collation, analysis and dissemination of management information and/or statistics.
