Position Title: Business Analyst
Reports to: Manager – Applications Support
Role Purpose
The Business Analyst will play a critical role in evaluating technology solutions, analysing industry trends, and supporting investment research. Working closely with the Manager – Applications Support, the Business Analyst will engage with stakeholders, assist community groups with banking technology initiatives, and contribute to data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Business Results & Strategy
- Conduct market, financial, and investment analysis.
- Provide structured insights to support IT strategy and automation opportunities.
- Analyse trends and customer behaviour to improve systems and operations.
- Assist with community group engagements on software banking technology.
Operational Support
- Document findings, system requirements, and process flows.
- Assist with product evaluations and systems integration.
- Collaborate with vendors, project teams, and internal users to support project completion.
- Support testing, reporting, and development of small-scale applications.
- Provide practical research on AI, machine learning, and automation trends.
Learning, Teamwork & Development
- Attend training and industry events to maintain professional development.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and internal meetings.
- Contribute to performance improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
- Submit quarterly recommendations for operational or systems enhancement.
Customer Service
- Support high internal/external customer satisfaction by providing responsive, knowledgeable insights.
- Promote the organisation’s IT and service standards through all interactions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Percentage of SLAs achieved
- Timely closure of support tickets and issues
- Process automation and efficiency gains
- Stakeholder satisfaction rating ≥ 80%
- Timely completion of mentorship, training, and projects
- Internal audit and ECCB rating: Satisfactory or better
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (required)
- Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Information Systems (preferred)
- Certifications: ITIL, PMP/PRINCE2, CBAP or PMI-PBA (preferred)
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in IT/software or systems environments
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent analytical and financial evaluation skills
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Visio
- Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Waterfall
- Proficiency in SQL and basic programming knowledge (advantageous)
- Ability to interpret trends in AI, automation, and machine learning
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
