The Role
The JN Group is seeking a Business Advisor to support the Business Intelligence and Research Unit through high-quality research, analysis, and insight generation. The role focuses on translating data and research into clear, decision-ready outputs that inform strategic and operational decision-making. A significant portion of the Business Advisor’s time will be spent analysing the strategic, operational, and financial performance of companies and developing research-informed plans to support the achievement of strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities and Performance Expectations

  • Lead and support the preparation of business cases, strategic plans, and research-informed proposals by working with stakeholders to define objectives, assumptions, success measures, and deliverables.
  • Support strategic initiatives across the Group by contributing research, analysis, and insight to growth, optimisation, feasibility, and investment-related assessments, as required.
  • Conduct applied research and analysis by gathering, synthesising, and interpreting industry, regulatory, economic, market, and internal performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop analytical outputs—including financial and non-financial analysis, benchmarking, and scenario assessments—to inform strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Assess entity and portfolio performance against competitors, industry benchmarks, and best practices, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Identify business opportunities and strategic implications arising from research findings, market intelligence, and internal performance trends.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, business models, and market developments, assessing their implications for customer experience, operational efficiency, and organisational performance.
  • Develop financial models and prepare defined technical content to support new business development, research initiatives, and advisory outputs.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across key support departments and the wider JN Group to deliver integrated, insight-driven outputs.
  • Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned by the Manager – Business Intelligence and Research.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Management Studies, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4 to 5 years’ experience in research, analytics, consulting, advisory, or insight-focused roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Translating research findings into actionable insights.
    • Preparing management reports, business cases, and/or financial analyses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with data analysis or visualisation tools is an asset.
