Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join Retail Bank (Black River) team in the capacity of:
Branch Manager - Black River
(Grade 4)
Responsible for the management, direction and growth of the branch into a profitable, efficient and productive unit of the Retail Banking Division of the bank.
Responsible for ensuring that the highest standard of client service is achieved in addition to the development of a harmonious and cooperative working environment.
Location: Black River
As a Branch Manager, you will:
- Provide effective management either directly or through supervisory personnel.
- Motivate and coach relevant direct reports.
- Maintain awareness of competitors, market conditions and opportunities for growth of the branch and keep Regional Manager abreast of changes.
- Identify training needs of personnel and develop in-house training activities or recommend formal training.
- Ensure loans and other advances are properly documented, assessed, approved/declined as per the bank’s policies, acceptable levels of risk and lending guidelines.
- Do mid-year and annual appraisals of team members according to established procedures.
- Set agenda and chair meetings to deal with branch activities and procedural changes in collaboration with the Assistant Manager of Branch Operations
- Lead management efforts by actively promoting and selling the banks’ products and services.
- Develop plans and strategies to improve sales and service delivery within the branch in collaboration with the Regional Manager and Manager Client Experience.
- Manage effective customer service directly or through feedback from supervisory staff.
- Develop business plan for branch.
- Provide information on the activities and performance of the branch.
- Solicit, negotiate and close consumer loans and advances in accordance with bank’s lending policies and guideline.
- Ensure adherence to AML/POCA policies and guidelines.
- Perform any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Banking/AICB Diploma, Finance, Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Seven (7) years’ experience in a bank or Financial Institution with at least 4 years of Sales leadership experience; sound Credit and Operations experience and to include at least 4 years’ experience at the Supervisory/Managerial level.
- Experience in credit analysis and the administration of a lending portfolio would be an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of current supervisory and managerial techniques.
- Sound knowledge of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong management and selling skills.
- Effective coaching skills.
- Excellent selling/negotiating skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Excellent human relations skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to produce reports.
