BIOMEDICAL TECHNICIAN
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Biomedical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing clinical and medical equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
Main Responsibilities:
Assembles, maintains and repairs basic electronic devices according to their specification.
Install, repair, maintain, calibrate and inspect biomedical medical/clinical equipment and instrumentation, including life-support equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical/ medical equipment, devices and systems.
Diagnose and solves system and equipment malfunctions by making repair milestone or completion.
Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections and equipment repairs and failures.
Provide technical assistance and instructions to staff regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
Review the outcome of preventative maintenance actions and make recommendations to the department’s staff concerning improvements.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory guidelines, and manufacturer specifications.
Provide technical support and training to healthcare personnel as required
Perform on call duties.
Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related degree.
Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in maintenance of biomedical equipment, including life-support equipment or in a related technical field.
MLT qualification will be considered an asset.
Hands-on experience with medical equipment maintenance and repair.
Knowledge of safety standards, regulatory compliance, and calibration procedures.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in the use of computers with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Any equivalent combination of training and qualification in the related field.
