Bearer / Pick Up Truck Driver

The Bearer is responsible for the delivery and pick up of items on and off the worksite.

Kemtek's operations is centered at Oak Estate, Portmore, St. Catherine. However, driver would be required to drive across parishes on a daily basis. 

The bearer would be driving an ISUZU Pick Up Truck. A 5,000 KG Driver's Licenece for at least 2 years is mandatory

Rate: $5,500 per day + Daily Lunch

Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out morning checks and inspections on the assigned truck using the appropriate checklist every morning before use of the truck.
• Carry out daily checks to ensure all safety features are working before driving.
• Drive the delivery truck to the locations assigned
• Monitor and assist with the offloading or onloading of items from the truck.
• Check and review all receipts and invoices, or any form of paperwork, to ensure correct quantity and type of items are received or delivered before leaving any location.
• Ensure that all goods and materials are correctly placed and securely strapped and secured before driving.
• Ensure that all goods and materials are properly covered during any rainy conditions.
• Maintain constant communication with the dispatcher.
• Liaise with dispatcher for updated assignments or requests
• Liaise with dispatcher for update on traffic and road conditions for various routes.
• Always travel at the prescribed or posted speed limit on or off site.
• Keep the driver’s area clean and tidy – carry out weekly cleaning of the truck cab and body.
