The Basic Scaffolder is responsible for ensuring that that all scaffolding activities are properly executed and conducted in accordance with Massy Wood Group Ltd. (Company) and Client policies/procedures.

Key Duties:

  • Ensure HSSE is the primary focus in the execution of all duties and responsibilities, ensuring compliance with Company & Client policies and procedures
  • Ensure conformance with HSSE and QA/QC standards of the Company & Client in the execution of daily activities
  • Attend and participate in Client morning meetings and in job tool box meetings
  • Be familiar with work packages and procedures before executing the job; read specifications and scaffolding drawings to determine locations, quantities and/ or sizes of materials required
  • Load and offload materials as determined for execution of jobs
  • To erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding structures with the assistance of an Advanced Scaffolder as required
  • Support the Advanced Scaffolder during the erection, alteration and dismantling of suspended, canterliver and over the platform side scaffolding structures
  • Install drop netting for working on platforms in accordance with job plan
  • Maintain and up-keep tools and materials in proper condition
  • Ensure proper housekeeping is completed
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness
  • Perform all other tasks / responsibilities assigned from time to time

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Basic Certification in Scaffolding (Safety & Access UK Standard (CITB/CISRS) Certification)
  • Certified in an approved Self Rescue training and Working at Heights/Rescue at Heights, Confined Space Working at Heights Awareness
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of scaffolding
  • Ability to work effectively and prioritise in a fast-paced, high performance work environment
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly
  • Maintains the highest level of respect, confidentiality and trustworthiness
  • Must be a team player with good interpersonal skills

 

An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements. Please also note that the successful candidate may be required to attend duties at the Client’s facilities as needed.
