The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of high-quality coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks while delivering outstanding customer service.

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of high-quality coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks while delivering outstanding customer service. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine passion for creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The Barista also supports daily operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with inventory, and ensuring adherence to company standards and safety guidelines.

 

Main Duties

  • Greet and welcome customers, provide information on specials or new items, answer questions, and process orders and payments.

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages, including sandwiches, baked goods, coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.

  • Package food and beverages for takeaway or sale.

  • Promote and sell souvenirs, food, beverages, and other outlet items.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization by restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and utensils.

  • Update signage and displays to highlight promotions and attract customers.

  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and quality controls.

  • Perform additional tasks and assignments as required to support smooth daily operations

 
Qualifications 
  • Must have 3 CXC O'level passes inclusive of Mathematics
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service is preferred.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight;
  • Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
  • Ability to work a flexible shift inclusive of weekends, nights and public holidays;
  • A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with cooks and other staff.
