The Bar Manager is responsible for the creation and upkeep of our property-wide beverage program to include menus for all restaurants and bars.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Creates an engaging and exciting environment for all guests ensuring a high level of luxury customer service.

  • Promotes and provides exemplary bar service to Silversands Grenada guests, using proper serving techniques according to department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to describe and upsell beverages to enhance the guest drinking and dining experience.
  • Responsible for setting up workstations within the bar/restaurant venues and breaking down all stations at the end of their shift.
  • Responsible for the creation of specialty drinks for all restaurants and bars and ensures that all food and beverage personnel (managers, bartenders, servers, etc.) are properly trained to execute recipes created.
  • Produces kitchen made items including syrups, cut fruit, and house-made mixers.
  • Knowledge of garnishes, possesses ability to create complex garnishes and properly utilize these in drink presentations.
  • Actively develops new drink recipes and or specialty menus with consideration to current and upcoming trends. (theme, Special Events, etc).
  • Provides training to all bartenders on proper execution of drink recipes, including technique and speed in preparation of cocktails/ drinks.
  • Monitors and maintains the cleanliness of the facility and confirms that all appropriate side work duties are being performed.
  • Maintains an inventory of glassware, and promptly communicates any shortages to management.
  • Oversees the bartenders to ensure proper guest service standards.
  • Must actively greet and welcome guests, building relationships to ensure overall guest satisfaction at all company events.
  • Must be able to represent the company in any company sponsored events and promotions as needed.
  • Must act as an ambassador to our Resort in any company sponsored event and competitions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

 

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma, college degree or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a bartender in a high volume bar/restaurant/resort with high quality food, extensive beer and spirits offering, with a high engaging atmosphere required.
  • Expertise in craft cocktails, craft beers, wine, single malt scotch, cognac, port and sherry, distillation processes, and food service.
  • Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW), Certifies Specialist of Spirits (CSS), or similar certification preferred.
  • Must possess a desire to exceed guest expectations.
  • Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to coworkers and guests; basic mathematical skills are also required.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handlers Card within 90 days of employment.
