Bakery Supervisor – Specialty Baker Line

This role is critical to the successful operation of our newly launched specialty bakery line, which focuses on premium and uniquely crafted baked goods. The Bakery Supervisor will oversee all aspects of production, quality control, and staff supervision to ensure consistency, innovation, and excellence in every product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage daily operations of the specialty bakery line, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining premium quality standards.
  • Oversee the preparation, baking, finishing, and packaging of specialty baked goods, ensuring recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines are followed precisely.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance checks on ingredients, processes, and finished products, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and health and safety protocols at all times.
  • Supervise inventory control for specialty ingredients, including ordering, receiving, proper storage, and minimizing waste.
  • Lead, train, and mentor bakers and bakery assistants on specialty baking techniques, equipment usage, and best practices.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and support skills development to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Ensure bakery displays for specialty products are visually appealing, well-stocked, and aligned with company merchandising standards.
  • Address customer inquiries and feedback related to specialty baked goods professionally and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with management to support new product rollouts, recipe testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare reports on production output, quality issues, staff scheduling, and operational efficiency as required.

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • School Leaving Certificate
  • Five (5) CXC subjects, including Mathematics and English
  • NVQJ Level 3 Certificate (an advantage)
  • Required: Minimum of one (1) year supervisory or leadership experience within a bakery environment, preferably involving specialty or artisanal baked goods.
  • In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and production processes.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to train and motivate staff.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail with a strong commitment to consistency and product excellence.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
