Co-ordinates the activities of the NLCB’s Tobago Office, ensuring that Agents and vendors comply and that company resources are optimally utilized at all times. Responsible for the accounting and administrative functions, supervises staff and acts as the Board’s representative in Tobago.

JOB SUMMARY:

Co-ordinates the activities of the NLCB’s Tobago Office, ensuring that Agents and vendors comply with the terms of their contractual agreements and that company resources are optimally utilized at all times. Responsible for the accounting and administrative functions, supervises customer relations / service provided by the General Clerk, Operations Assistant I and acts as the Board’s representative in Tobago.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports cheque payments to Financial Comptroller on a daily basis. 
  • Reports ticket sales to Lottery Ticket Supervisor on a daily basis. 
  • Makes weekly deposits to First Citizens Bank via Sentinel Security Services. 
  • Ensures the integrity of all security codes from NLCB’s Port-of-Spain office. 
  • Interviews applicants for Roamer and Instant Money Game (IMG) agencies; advises prospective agents about the benefits of being an agent and recommends suitable applicants to the Director for the agency. 
  • Arranges document transfers to NLCB’s Port-of-Spain office via TTPOST- once or twice weekly as is practicable. 
  • Checks and initials OR signs the work prepared by the General Clerk, including, but not limited to, the following: 
    • Agents’ invoices
    • All 2% Commission Redemptions (verifies and signs cheque payment vouchers and signs cheques)
    • On-Line prizes.
    • Till Book entries. 
  • Assigns additional duties to the General Clerk as required. 
  • Checks and balances receipts to be banked, in the Till Book with the Remittance Register; initials total amount for cheques in hand in the Remittance Register. 
  • Prepares monthly reports on Tobago Branch operations for the Director. 
  • Assists agents with billing queries. 
  • Implements stipulated accounting measures to reduce billing problems. 
  • Prepares a record of the cleaner’s attendance for faxing, along with a copy of the payment voucher; also sends the original by mail to NLCB’s Port-of-Spain office. 
  • Takes general office stock and prepares requisitions for stationary and general office supplies. 
  • Activates and deactivates On-Line terminal daily. 
  • Represents The National Lotteries Control Board at Functions and social events as required. 
  • Performs other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of basic Accounting procedures for business.
  • Knowledge of Public Administration.

SKILLS AND

ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers.
  • Skill in writing and editing, including a strong command of English.
  • Ability to use the internet for research purposes.
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently in a changing and multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external partners.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

  • Advanced Level Certificate with a minimum of three (3) passes.
  • ACCA Level 1 qualification or other equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years’ work experience with experience at the supervisory level being an asset.
  • Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered.
