Baker Tilly Chartered Accountants is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the role of:

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will supervise and lead audit engagements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and communicating findings to clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute end-to-end audits, including defining the scope, materiality, and resource requirements for diverse clients.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and financial systems to identify potential misstatements or fraud.
  • Perform substantive testing, analytical reviews, and data interrogation to obtain sufficient evidence to support an audit opinion.
  • Direct, mentor, and review the work of junior auditors to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to professional standards like IFRS, and ISA.
  • Draft comprehensive audit reports and management letters that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations for process improvements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client finance teams and senior management to discuss audit progress, findings, and remediation plans.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or its equivalent.
  • Pursuing or have completed ACCA Level 3.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in conducting external audits.
  • Working knowledge of CaseWare and/or other auditing software would be an asset.
  • Competence with Microsoft Suite of applications to include Excel
